RIVERVIEW ESTATE

The Riverview housing estate designed by APA Wojciechowski studio was built in Gdańsk, in the immediate vicinity of Motława. Thanks to its location near the Old Town, the estate is well connected in terms of public transport and accessible on foot. The complex has two faces: the red brick buildings located by the river refer to the historic architecture of Dutch Mannerism in Gdańsk, while the buildings along Anielska Grobla and Jana Dziewanowskiego streets take a form reminiscent of bourgeois tenement houses.

The buildings do not exceed five storeys, and there are service premises on the ground floors. Thanks to this, a high density of buildings was achieved with medium-rise buildings, which best maintains the balance between comfort of life and maximum use of the plot. A wide selection of apartments is available to residents, varying in terms of area and volume. A courtyard was designed between the buildings, accessible to both residents and outsiders, thus integrating the estate with the city. 84 trees and over 6,000 shrubs were planted within one hectare of land.

Among other things, these design decisions allowed it to obtain the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certificate as the first housing estate in Poland.
